Energy independence
The project to install photovoltaic systems on the roofs of our warehouses was implemented in Spring 2012.
Currently, the surface area of the plant – consisting of 1,212 polycrystalline silicon modules – exceeds 2,000 square meters.
The energy production in 2020 was 334 megawatt-hours – equivalent to the average annual consumption for domestic use of 123 Italian families of 3-4 individuals. (source: Authority for Electricity and Gas).
The plant allows an important saving, both in economic and environmental terms, and a significant reduction of carbon emissions.
All of the energy produced is sold to the grid, with no self-consumption by the Company.
Protecting our environment remains a priority in the Group’s development policies, as does the promotion of low environmental impact systems through the exploitation of renewable energy sources.
In the future, we plan to extend the photovoltaic system on the car parks currently lacking, to increase the annual energy production.
